The Palaimachi Ionian Nikaias played with the Mixed Type S.P.A.E. M.M.E.
Satisfying 4-4

The Mixed Press S.P.A.E. M.M.E. played its fourth friendly match against the veterans of Ionian Nikaia, with the final 4-4 coming after an impressive development. The Mixed led 1-4 and looked like they would hold on to the victory, but Ionian found the strength to come back and equalize in the last minute of the match.
A major protagonist for the Mixed was OPEN striker Alekos Latsounas, who scored a hat trick and was the main point of reference in the attack. The S.P.A.E. M.M.E. team took advantage of the opportunities it created, found a rhythm in its game and took a three-goal lead, showing at that point that it was in control.
The veterans of Ionians, however, did not give up the match. Despite the changes in the second half with older players, and despite the departure of their center forward Giorgos Mariolis, they managed to come back. The final 4-4 was formed in the last minute with a direct free kick by Elias Kyriakides, Nikolic's assistant and former professional footballer at AEK and Ionikos.
The game was a strong test for the Ionian veterans, one week before their friendly with the AEK veterans team. At the same time, it confirmed that the Ionian team remains active, participating in the Piraeus veterans tournament, while it also has friendly participation in the Piraeus Veterans Cup.
A beautiful moment of the match occurred when Elias Kyriakides shook hands with Mikti's captain and manager, Michalis Flambouraris, acknowledging the moment in which he stopped him on his way down to the area with repeated feints.

Giannis Katsikis, second goalkeeper of Ionians, who also participates with Avgi in the Press Championship, handed over the banner of the Ionians veterans to Michalis Flambouraris.

Mikti's coach, Giorgos Sarris, who had once played for Ionians, also had the opportunity to meet many familiar faces at the Nice stadium.
The friendly match with Mikti was a rehearsal for the big match on Easter Monday between the veterans of Ionian and AEK, which will be held at the same stadium.
